question of swimmergurl : Pastry School with allergy ????Would it be stupid for me to go into pastery school if I have a peanut allergy? I am really interested in some sieving of cooking, but I’m not sure if that would be smart or if it would negatively feeling my allergy. Thanks! Best Answer:

    I had a culinary instructor who had a nut allergy. And, he had a passion for baking. I don’t think it should be a problem.

    You should talk to the adivsors of different culinary/patsry schools and ask them what they recommend.

    See who gives you the best options and go from there.

    Or ask around at some bakeries tell them your situation and ask to just apprentice at thier shops.

    Yes, find another career. You will be asked to use peanut butter or peanuts or even peanut oil in recipes. Just find another career because even if you go to school and are hired somewhere, the first time you refuse to make something with peanut butter, you likely will be fired.
